Retired data processing professional. Academically trained in mathematics and nuclear physics, I always expected to teach but my career took a detour after returning almost penniless from a 4 year stint in the Peace Corps when I decided to make some money for a few years. My career detour ended up lasting almost 35 years.
Although I worked in a technical field, I have always maintained a strong interest in history, geography, and sociology.
I entered adulthood as an atheist, then became a Pentecostal Christian for over a decade but now believe humankind is wondrous product of cosmological evolution. The cosmos is also within us, we're made of stars. Our physical bodies are collections of stardust whose particles exquisitely interact with each other and the environment in an awesome process we know as life.
